An interior renovation that expanded a house and made its decor contemporary, taking advantage of the high ceilings. This was the challenge faced by interior designer Bianca Notari for this project in her family home on the outskirts of Miami, Florida, USA.

“We bought the house in 2015, already nearing completion, and made only minor modifications at the time. In 2018, we decided to move to Miami, and we wanted to build a guest house with a guest suite, a bathroom, and a living room where my three children entertain their friends.”

Furthermore, the entire interior design was redesigned during the renovation.

“The decor was created primarily with pieces brought from our previous homes, such as the apartment in São Paulo and the beach house in Paraty. We have some objects of sentimental value, such as the double bed that has been with us since our wedding and the china cabinet in the dining room that came from the beach house. This combination, along with items purchased specifically for the project, resulted in a contemporary style that blends well with the architecture of the house.”

But the interior designer highlights one element of the project in particular.

“Without a doubt, one of the highlights is the wine cellar. We’ve always enjoyed wine and saw this house as an opportunity to have a complete and well-equipped wine cellar. It’s worth mentioning that it also serves as a visual barrier between the kitchen and living room.”
